The same documents are required — death notification, police NOC, passport, and Emirates ID. The standard fee for issuing the bilingual death certificate is AED 60. Northern Emirates: MoHAP and EHS

Deaths in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah are registered through Emirates Health Services (EHS) or the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) online portals.

The process and document requirements are similar to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, though the specific portal interfaces differ. Processing times are comparable — within 24 hours for straightforward natural-cause deaths.

The Police NOC Requirement

Regardless of emirate, no health authority will issue the death certificate without a stamped police NOC. For in-hospital natural-cause deaths, the police NOC is a formality — the hospital's electronic death notification streamlines it. For out-of-hospital or unnatural deaths, the police NOC comes only after the investigation or forensic autopsy is complete, which can take days to weeks.

The family or authorized representative must visit the district police station where the death was registered to collect the NOC. This is a physical, stamped document — not digital.

Critical Details to Verify at Registration

Before leaving the health authority office, verify:

1. Name spelling matches the passport exactly — any discrepancy (missing middle name, "Jr." omitted, different transliteration of Filipino names) will cause cascading problems at MOFA, the Philippine Consulate, and eventually the PSA.
